Christie Edling is a mosaic artist and instructor whose work is rooted in a deep reverence for nature and a passion for transformation—of materials, objects, and perception. Her journey into mosaic art began with a single class at a local art studio. Captivated by the process, she bought her first pair of nippers from the instructor and immediately began plotting how to continue creating mosaics at home. Ten years later, she’s still at it—cutting, shaping, and composing in her cozy basement studio, where the spark of that first class continues to fuel her creativity. Based in Boyertown, Pennsylvania, Christie is both an Artist and Instructor at ArtFusion 19464, where she shares her love for mosaics with students of all levels. Her work is known for incorporating elements of the natural world—birds, leaves, flowers, stones—and for her imaginative use of unconventional bases such as reclaimed wood and vintage musical instruments. Each piece she creates tells a story, blending nature and nostalgia, craftsmanship and curiosity.
Christie is an active member of several arts organizations, including the Pottstown Area Artists Guild, the Society of American Mosaic Artists, and the Mosaic Society of Philadelphia. She is also a juried member of the Reading-Berks Guild of Craftsmen, a recognition of her skill and dedication to the craft. Through her mosaics, Christie invites viewers to slow down and appreciate the details—the shimmer of glass, the roughness of stone, the history embedded in a repurposed object. Whether teaching a class or working on a new piece, her work is a celebration of transformation, patience, and the quiet beauty found in unexpected places.
